Saint Martial de Paunat




 Place : Abbaye Saint Martial de Paunat,  Paunat

C'est au VIIIème siècle que l'abbaye fut édifiée. Donnée en 804 à Saint Martial de Limoges, elle fut saccagée en 860 par les Normands. Elle fut plusieurs fois ruinée puis rétablie. En 1703, elle fut rattachée au séminaire de Périgueux. L'église actuelle présente un choeur rectangulaire qui date du XIIème siècle et qui a été voûté d'ogives au XIVème siècle.
